Macdonald Elmers Court Hotel

Before our visit the reception staff were most pro-active and emailed and were most accommodating and helpful as regards my allergy. My many thanks to them for making my trip a safe and relaxing one. On arrival all staff were most pleasant, efficient, courteous and helpful. The breakfast and dinner were excellent and facilities were amazing. I particularly appreciated the 'adult only' swimming times' which facilitated a more relaxing swim time for the more mature persons. The grounds were well kept and most enjoyable to walk around. All in all a most excellent venue with excellent service.

The staff were excellent. The indoor pool was a good size and the perfect temperature. Unfortunately we didn't have time to explore the other leisure facilities but hope to do so in the future. The room was spacious, warm and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. The hotel was easy to find and we liked the location. We would stay here again.

The food was very nice. The staff were lovely and accommodating. The decor was nice in both the main building and the bedroom. Would have asked for a ground floor room had I realised the rooms were outside. Brilliant pool and gym facilities.

We had stayed here before so knew exactly what to expect. If you want a 5 star luxury spa hotel it's not for you. But we love the location (we visit the area for winter birdwatching mostly) and the rooms are spacious and comfortable with large beds. We like having a bath as well as shower, so that's a plus. The indoor swimming pool is a great rainy day option. The outdoor pool looks lovely but we don't come here in summer! The breakfast offers plenty of choice and is better quality than we would normally expect in a large but not luxury hotel.

I was expecting just a normal hotel room in the building pictured. Was over the moon to find my room was actually a suite just off the main manor house and it had a little patio with table and chairs outside. I think the weather helped as it was a hot summer day. I loved being able to use the pool and if I wished I could have used the tennis courts. A choice of bath or shower. Beautiful grounds to walk around. The 11 am checkout was brilliant as it gave me plenty of time in the morning of departure. Location was peaceful and I had a fantastic night's sleep. Restaurant served delicious food but an expensive treat to myself. Breakfast which was included in my package was buffet style in a different part of the complex and again it was spot on. Staff were very helpful and friendly. I went away feeling totally rested.
